Date Added: 19 December 2005 Contributor: Joe Gracey Year: 1912 Picture No: 1415

Joe has sent this picture of his grandfather [picture #955] who was lost on the Natal.

He says "This is another photograph of my grandfather William Walsh, his cousin William Rice in army uniform, and a friend possibly from HMS Natal. Perhaps some of your viewers may recognise him and also possibly the medals my grandfather is wearing."

My stepfather served on Natal and has a medal dated 1915 and inscribed with his name Clifford Cyril Parker and also inscribed "from the people of Natal" I also have his hatband and a newspaper cutting from an Ipswich newspaper about the sinking, any information on the medal would be welcome, Antiques Roadshow have no knowledge of the medal.
