The salmon bothie and it's compound are behind the group, with the roofs of Seacott and Stornoway House visible at top right. to the right of the picture is what looks like a tarred shed which no longer exists. See also picture #2181.

The tarred shed to the right of the photo is one of the two WW1 corrugated iron houses that still exist on the Links. The houses used to be part of a WW1 encampment in one of the Newton fields, adjacent to Cromarty's former reservoir
half mile towards Newton. In fact, the last of the on site WW1 camp corrugated huts remained until 1950, occupied by a Mr & Mrs Dan Macphail, Dan was a County Roadman. Comment left on 10 June 2008 at 20:01 by Clem Watson

On second view I see you're right Clem - the camera has foreshortened things. It looks like this is the garden of one of the houses, and on the far side of the fence is the area where the salmon bagnets are hung for cleaning and repairing.
