Andrew this a great picture and a rare shot of Jessie Reid senior. It's equally rare to have the three Reid sisters in the same picture. We parked the family holiday caravan in front of your Mother's house for two or possibly three years when Col. Ross moved us on from the Braehead Links. Thanks Arthur, is that you as a young man in the background? Comment left on 01 September 2009 at 18:01 by Andrew Bathie
Andrew, yes that's me aged nine (I think it may be a year or two later than 1961) in the background clutching my sister Judy aged three and brother Peter aged four between mother Jessie and granny Jessie. I don't know the baby my mother is holding or the young girl on the left. It's good to have three generations in a single photograph. Comment left on 01 September 2009 at 19:25 by Arthur Bird
Thanks Arthur, printed on the rear of the photograph is Kodacolor Print August 1961. I assume this is the date the film was developed but I suppose it could be a patent? Comment left on 01 September 2009 at 20:41 by Andrew Bathie
Andrew - I have the same thing on a number of prints. Then August 1961 it is. So I am age nine and all else is correct! It is then that this picture covers three Reid gene generations. As far as I know it is the only picture we have to do so. Do you have any more in the Bathie archive? Comment left on 02 September 2009 at 09:35 by Arthur Bird
