Interesting sweater your dad was wearing Andrew - is there a story behind that? Comment left on 06 October 2009 at 10:36 by Garve Scott-Lodge
Garve, apparently somebody knitted it for him (as was the norm back then) but there's no significance as far as he is aware. I was more taken by the boots and the hair! Comment left on 06 October 2009 at 20:27 by Anonymous
I think the young gent sitting alongside Daniel, is one David Taylor, who used to stay in Burnside Cottage, just opposite the former brewery (now a lecture and concert venue). David's father worked in Fortrose in an Ironmonger's shop. Comment left on 15 January 2010 at 13:49 by Clem Watson
Not David Taylor. He would have been about 20/21 in 1953. My parents, Sam and Betty Hossack nee Taylor and I lived in Aberdeen, at Girdleness Lighthouse. David came to work in Aberdeen after doing National Service. Comment left on 19 January 2010 at 20:10 by Catherine Penman, nee Hossack
I'd guess the other fellow is a Finlayson, he looks an awful lot like my brother, Stephen Finlayson, my dad Donald Coulter Finlayson, and my grandfather Donald Alexander Finlayson. Comment left on 27 August 2010 at 13:13 by Catherine Finlayson
I am quite sure this is Bert Shepherd, a relative of mine. Comment left on 08 August 2011 at 13:23 by Iris Winton
