My relatives Adam Urquhart and his wife Isabella lived at 29 Church St from around 1822 until at least 1871. He was an agricultural labourer as was his son Robert Urquhart who later became a gamekeeper. His daughter Clementina was a dress maker and my gggg granny elspeth was a laundry woman.

In the 1871 census my gggg granny Isabella is now using her maiden name, Munro as she is a widow and she is listed as the head of household and at the age of 70 is a knitter of worsted.

Her daughter Elspet is a widow too and using the maiden name Urquhart instead of Mann. Her only son, my ggg grandad John Mann is also there as a cooper journeyman.
