Not sure whether hooks are being baited or nets repaired. I've also guessed at the date. The buildings no longer stand (note thatched roofs) but I believe they were somewhere near the Ice House possibly just behind the Cross House.

The woman in the picture is probably baiting a long line (scanty?).
The dates of the two pictures seem to be wrong unless the building was re-harled and patched up. The boarded-up window in 803 seems to suggest that there has been some work done. Comment left on 16 September 2006 at 05:21 by Ross Couper
